SIGNATURE AUDIO COMPLETES MAJOR SOUND RENOVATION AT BALL STATE UNIVERSITY’S EMENS AUDITORIUM

The patrons of Ball State University’s Emens Auditorium will hear things more clearly thanks to Signature Audio of Wixom, MI. The emerging audio services giant took on its biggest installation project last month and, despite some challenges—working around other contractors in the same space during an all-out remodel of the auditorium—finished the sound renovation project in just 12 on-site build days. Now the theater sounds as good as it looks.

The Signature Audio team installed a system consisting exclusively of Harman Professional products including a 48-channel Soundcraft MH-4 and BSS Audio front-of-house processing. A trio of high-performance dbx Professional DriveRack 4820TIO’s processes the loudspeaker arrangement. JBL VerTec VT-4888DP-AN’s anchor the main left and right clusters with a cluster of JBL VerTec VT-4888’s up the middle. The center cluster is driven by Crown Audio I-Tech series amplifiers. To top off the sophisticated system, all system components are linked using Harman Pro’s HiQnet communications and control protocol for easy system control and monitoring.

“I couldn’t be happier with the outcome of the install,” said Signature Audio’s Senior Manager Sam Walton. “The sound is fantastic, which goes without saying, but the system also has precise control available via the HiQNet operating protocol, allowing the system operator infinite flexibility for any show that will come through the venue." This installation is very special as it is exclusively comprised of Harman Professional products. From microphone to speaker, everything in the signal chain is a Harman Pro product. Signature Audio and Harman Professional are very proud to have been chosen as such a big part of the renovation at Emens Auditorium.”
