Signature Audio at the 2008 Roeper Golden Apple Awards
Signature Audio was proud to announce
their partnership with the Roeper School as their audio production company for
the 2008 Golden Apple Awards. The ceremony, which took place on November 22,
2008, was a technically complex event that included speeches and presentations
mixed with multiple musical performances by various choirs, a jazz band and
string ensemble.
The awards were established in observance of the school's 50th Anniversary to
recognize and honor individuals epitomizing the "Roeper philosophy…honesty to
oneself and to others, personal reliability, a sense of duty and cooperation,
social responsibility, and consideration for others.” The ceremony’s highlight
was the keynote address by actor and environmental activist Ed Begley, Jr.
The prestige of the event demanded a high level of performance from everyone
involved. “The decisions we made during pre-production meetings and the dress
rehearsal were crucial to the overall success of the production,” said Seth
Grass, production manager at Signature Audio. “Our careful choice of equipment
was specific to the application and environment.”
The production crew from Signature Audio relied heavily on an extensive array of
Harman products including JBL SRX series loudspeakers, Crown XTI series
amplifiers, and AKG condenser and wireless microphones. “The AKG C430 mics were
a lifesaver for me,” commented James Gietzen, stage manager for the event. “They
were compact which made them easy to set-up and strike while being very discrete
visually. And they sounded great, especially on the string ensemble.”
The 2008 Roeper Golden Apple Awards went off without a hitch due to the
collaboration between Signature Audio and the school’s technical staff, faculty,
students, and performers. And thanks to the superb results they delivered,
Signature Audio will remain a proud partner for all future productions at the
esteemed Roeper School.
